Pour Over
Why pour over? Smooth, clean, and full-bodied. The delicacy of a fresh pour over cup is worth the practice and dedication. Pour overs pull out the most intricate details of a brew, allowing you to fully appreciate the depth of a great cup.
- Grind: medium fine
- Brew time: 4 minutes
- Water temp: off-boil
- Brew ratio: 1:14
- 25g fresh coffee
- 350g water
1. Bring the water to a boil and ground your coffee. Remember, always grind just what you need for your method.
2. Place a filter in your dripper and wet it to create a seal and remove the papery taste of the filter. Dump the water out before proceeding.
3. Add your grounds and tare your scale to zero.
4. Start your timer and bloom the grounds with 50 grams of water, double the amount of grounds you started with. Make sure to evenly saturate all of the grounds. Let the coffee bloom for 30 seconds.
5. Starting from the middle and circling your way out and back to the center, pour until the scale reads 150 grams. Allow 10 seconds before beginning your next pour of 100 grams. Repeat three times until you reach 350 grams.
6. The entire process should take 3:30-4:30 minutes. Allow the coffee to drip through entirely and rinse out your dripper.
Enjoy your hard work!
